We just wanted to update you regarding precautions we are taking at the PACE to keep everyone as healthy as possible.
AT PACE FACILITY: In addition to the regular protocols set by the Child Care Licensing requirements, we are regularly wiping down all heavily used surfaces such as railings, doorknobs, light switches and counters with disinfectant products recommended by the Centre for Disease Control. We are ensuring regular hand washing and making it possible for staff who are not feeling well to remain home.
ARE YOU VISITING PACE / COMING TO SEE A COUNSELLOR / THERAPIST OR ATTENDING THE FAMILY PROGRAM (with preschool component)?
Information from the Chief Medical Health Officer for childcare programs advises:
- Generally, students with colds may go to childcare facilities if they feel well enough to take part in activities; mild symptoms of the common cold may include a runny nose and sneezing. Children with symptoms of fever, cough, shortness of breath or sore throat should stay home from school.
- PLEASE USE THE SAME GUIDELINES FOR YOURSELF / ANY ADULTS
PACE STAFF IN THE COMMUNITY:
PACE staff are connecting with families and programs prior to any in-person visits/meetings to assess whether there are any risks or concerns with face to face contact. Staff are also considering options of other ways to connect, such as by phone calls and videoconferencing.

Thanks to everyone for being mindful of everyone’s health – your own, your family and your community – by continuing to follow the frequent, 20 second handwashing recommendations.
